District heating from Western Sweden in London

On November 8, local municipality administrations and authorities in London as well as the rest of Great Britain was given an opportunity to learn more about district heating and district cooling in Sweden in general and in Gothenburg in particular.

On that day a seminar focusing on district heating and cooling was held in London, arranged by the Swedish Trade Council, Business Region Göteborg – Ecoex, the Sustainable Business Hub, SweHeat and Cooling, and the Mayor of London.

During the day a number of companies from Western Sweden had the opportunity to present their knowledge and solutions to a group of decision-makers, primarily from the London area where an introduction and expansion of district heating systems is being planned.

In Gothenburg and Western Sweden there are many companies with considerable experience of building, maintaining and operating district heating and district cooling systems, and among those present in London were Göteborg Energi, Wideco from Borås, which develops and markets monitoring equipment for district heating networks, Powerpipe from Gothenburg, which manufactures district heating pipes, and Regin from Kållered, which supplies control systems for district heating networks.
