Alelyckan – Pioneering Recycling Park

Alelyckan Recycling Park was developed as a pioneering facility, where objects perceived as waste are received, repaired, processed and sold on site.

Recycling and sorting hall
Alelyckan Recycling Park has a covered sorting hall where trained staff will help sort your material. Items that can be reused will be set aside and taken to one of the shops in the Recycling Park. Once sorting is finished, you drive on to the recycling centre and dispose of your material in the designated places.

Återbruket – the Reusing Centre
At Återbruket you can find everything from windows, wardrobes, roof tiles and toilets to entire verandas from the previous turn of the century. You can also seek inspiration here for new projects, and perhaps find a single item or detail to suit your home. The selection at Återbruket varies from one day to the next, depending on what comes in.
Återbruket is run by the City of Gothenburg’s Sustainable Waste and Water, a not-for-profit operation. Revenue from sales go towards running Återbruket and to supporting different projects that create job opportunities for people who are excluded from the jobs market. By shopping at Återbruket you help give more people the opportunity of a working life, while also doing the environment a favour.

Returhuset – the Return House
The KRAV-certified café in Returhuset serves food entirely prepared and cooked with organic ingredients.
The workshops in Returhuset renovate bicycles that you can then buy. They also make new items from recycled and organic materials. Returhuset’s gardening group grows vegetables and flowers. Some of the things grown here are then made into condiments and other products in the kitchen, and these are also for sale.
Returhuset supports people starting out in the jobs market. By shopping here you help give more people the opportunity of a working life, while also protecting the earth’s resources.

Stadsmissionen – Gothenburg’s Ecclesiastical Charity
When you buy items in Stadsmissionen’s charity shop you are helping protect the environment by contributing to reduced production of new things. You help create job opportunities for people who want to return to the jobs market, and you also contribute to Stadsmissionen’s activities that are open for everyone. The entire surplus from sales goes to Stadsmissionen’s donation-financed activities for vulnerable people.

Return large quantities at Pantamera Express
Pantamera Express makes it easier if you want to return large quantities of recyclable containers. Instead of returning each plastic bottle or tin separately, you pour the containers straight from your bag into a machine. The machine then sorts the items and works out the refund, which you can choose to give to a charity if you wish. You can also have the refund paid to your Paypal account, or as vouchers that you can use in most supermarkets.
